Over the years, we've developed an impressive
support infrastructure, including human resources and research
tools that use the latest technology.
Our terminology data bank, TERMITT, contains
over 200,000 entries and is updated weekly using our clients'
terminology. Our full-text indexing system, TIRSYS, stores all
completed translations for easy future reference. We have access
to TERMIUM, the Canadian government terminology bank, as well
as Quebec's Office de la langue française data
bank.
Tessier Translations keeps a documentation
centre, staffed by three professional library technicians and
one assistant. The team supplies general reference, translation-specific,
technical, and specialized literature search services, as well
as ad hoc services on client corporate culture-related issues.
For easy reference, the centre also keeps a file system of translations
done over the last 18 months.
The centre features an impressive collection
of some 4,000 reference documents-dictionaries, handbooks, guides,
newsletters, legal reference material in both paper and electronic
versions, and technological tools such as the Internet, AMICUS,
ISM, and QUICKLAW. In particular, our researchers make full use
of the Internet, and are thus able to retrieve a wealth of information
both quickly and efficiently.
Tessier Translations is a member of the Canadian
Library Association and the Association pour l'avancement
des sciences et des techniques de la documentation, which
provide us with access to the collections and documentation data
bases of every Canadian library.
